Victory for Young Voters: First Hawaiian Born U.S. President!!!
Julius, Camille + I celebrated our assess off at the Storefront for Art + Architecture in Nolita. We sat through two grueling hours counting down election results for electoral-rich Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, whom OBAMA took away!
I would have to say that between the music, the cool arts-cats that dominated the scene and the historic moment that Obama’s victory represented, THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS IN OUR LIFETIME!!! God bless him, this country and our youth.
Thank you America for voting for our future!!!
To those of you who refused to be open to the possibilities of change that Obama and his young supporters represented, may you be humbled!!!
First Black and Hawaiian-born President to be Sworn in on January 20th, 2008
Obama’s amazing inroads in the red red South—by winning Virginia and North Carolina—speaks millions to how the changing demographics (youths who saw beyond skin color) helped to tip the scale in traditionally Republican strongholds. Then there is the Latino vote that helped to turn blue majority Latino states like Colorado and Nevada.
Young Voters, including Asian Americans, were active in our campaign for Obama. Check out photos of the law office replete with pre-election pro-Obama postings! There was also the Asian American voter survey conducted in downtown Jersey City at my voting precint at Grace Van Vorst Church in Erie St. Check out the snaking line when I lined up to vote around 10 am!!!
