SEE YOU ALL THERE!

SEE YOU ALL THERE!

the first warm warm day of a long winter! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY. Spring is hhheeeeerrreeee!!!!

nothing like a metrosexual athlete like A-Rod. Whether he admits it or not, he plays for our team, lol!

some of the best shots from my 3-day trip to Charlotte, North Carolina with Julius for two Immigration Court matters. All is well! Charlotte was a central city for the civil rights movement’s counter-sit-ins, as per attached photo from the Levine Museum of the New South! Love the soul food, the way people take their sweet time.

The civil rights movement of Black people in the South made it possible for many non white immigrants to come to this country. Without that movement, there would be no way for me to get to law school and run my own practice.

source: Mert’s Heart & Soul! Wow!!! The popcorn shrimp, to die for!!! They specialize in Southern Cooking: Low Country and Gullah Favorites! The maitre d’ used to live in Piscataway doing corporate work but she moved back to her NC roots where time is slow, stress is near zero. Cost of living here is very low, quality of life high (their movie theatres are 2x the size in NY and you can bring liquor!) even if the pay may be less.

Gullah defined: The Gullah are African Americans who live in the Low Country region of South Carolina and Georgia, which includes both the coastal plain and the Sea Islands. Historically, the Gullah region once extended north to the Cape Fear area on the coast of North Carolina and south to the vicinity of Jacksonville on the coast of Florida; but today the Gullah area is confined to the South Carolina and Georgia Low Country. “southern disorientation” wearing off. did u know that as per wikepedia, NC has the highest native american population in the Eastern part of the U.S.? Attached is a photo from the upcoming April 09 series on Native American history (past and NOW) by PBS called “We Shall Remain”.

Below is an old wikepedia photo of Catawba Indians who were dominant in the Carolinas territory:

priceless moments….catching neida in her more-prevalent bouts with sleep, comes with the 7-year territory…or her just wanting, always, to PlAy!

nyc night out with Sue and Maradee, as in the old days…maradee met julius for the first time…hope to see you more of you here and in Manila!

“JAY” won SPECIAL JURY PRIZE at the FICCO- Festival Internacional de Cine Contemporaneo de la Ciudad de Mexico. Here is the photo he emailed of him accepting the trophy at the Awards Ceremony.
