mama: a day in the life

July 28, 2008

with mama around, it has been an abundance of ready and cooked food in the house. below is a photo of her doing her ever-popular and high-in-demand tamalos. we are striving to get her adjusted to her american life and hoping to find her a temp job soon.

los gemelos, means twins

July 26, 2008

it is always a welcomed visit to have the alvardo twins visit, our second cousins from tatay’s side. they remind us to appreciate our youth and exploit and enjoy it as much as we could before we lose grip of this temporary gift. Life. notice philip pointing to the hottie with the yellow shirt…julius positioned the shot so that the unknowing hottie would be included.

Just read this New York article about a template for the downtown aesthetics: rusty, woolly, scruffy and peely.  As per above photo, I stay true to mainly the scruffy element with my scruff: una sabor tropical y indio. Philip does the same (hence the scruff) but with a hip-hop/LA/westside flav.

The Bardos Boys: a Scruffy Branch of the Family Tree

Here are shots of our night out in L.E.S. last Friday night. It has been a while since Ryl & I have been out like that in years. We started @ the Delancey with some dark modeling shots. Then a couple of blocks away, had a blast @ Kush Lounge complete with the hooka and bellydancer.

Peace

July 18, 2008

the offer of peace can only be accepted by a person of peace.

We continue to pray for peace for Camille. (Americ and Philipp coming next week. Coincidence?)

No judgments.

actividades afuera con mama

July 16, 2008

at our local taqueria in Jersey City con mama, nanay y tatay en la semana pasado. the other pic is a snapshot from a barbecue at don and daryl’s home, where mama was also in attendance (but was mostly on the phone texting the folks in baybay que ella echa de mucho menos (she misses much). i am holding a patron bottle, a summer drink must.

speaking of summer, here is a photo of oneida at the small park below williamsburg bridge by delancey. this was taken on memorial day. she was not able to attend the baybay picnic with her cousin einstein. hopefully, einstein can be at our apartment soon since he is getting so much better behavior-wise.

July 11, 2008

it is a big deal to get this because i know many clients who have had to fight many years for this number card. an ss card allows one to report their income, file taxes and earn the necessary credits in order to avail of social security benefits in the future or upon retirement. congrats mama! you are blessed!
